Woodcock on sections 3 and 4 in Green Lake township and sections 33 and 34 in New London township. This area covered 320 acres including one mile of lake front. Forsythe took a claim adjoining the town site and Woodcock took a claim adjoining the town site on the opposite side. So the promoters controlled 640 acres. After being surveyed in December 1856, Columbia was incorporated by the Minnesota Territorial Council in 1857. The...
